Fotofee is a trade name of GS Software BV. This text has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
Until 28 June 2030, the Belgian accessibility rules for webshops (Book VIII of the Code of Economic Law) do not apply to businesses with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of at most EUR 2 million. GS Software BV is such a business. In the Netherlands, these rules do not apply to businesses of this size.
We are not waiting: we aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA. The site has not been independently audited, so we do not claim that it reaches that level. Below you can read what does not work well yet.
What doesn't work well yet
- The questions on the home page and on the pages for each kind of photo book. Each question is a button with its answer inside, so a screen reader may not read out or reach a link in that answer properly. Our Privacy Notice is also linked at the bottom of those pages. For any other link or answer, write to us and you'll get it by email.
- The Type menu in the editor, where you choose the fonts for your book. Enter opens it, but the keyboard can’t reach the options and Escape doesn’t close it, so with the keyboard alone you can’t choose a font there. Write to us and we’ll see what we can do for you.
- The Country dropdown at checkout. When you reach it with the keyboard, only its border gets slightly darker, which is easy to miss.
This is only what our checks have found so far, so there may be more. We haven’t seen the shared book itself, where you turn the pages, and we tried only part of the editor. “How we check this” says what we did and didn’t try.
Tell us what you need
Got stuck, or need something in another form? Write to hello@fotofee.be and say which page it was, what you tried and, if you use one, which assistive tool. A person reads your message and answers within 5 working days, with what we can do for you.
If we don't find a solution
You can contact Unia, the independent public institution that fights discrimination, free of charge: unia.be or 0800 12 800. For a consumer dispute you can also go to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service. The Economic Inspection of the FPS Economy supervises the accessibility rules for webshops; for businesses of our size it can only take complaints under those rules about facts from 28 June 2030.
How we check this
On 31 October 2026 we ran two scripts, with test data rather than on the live site. An automated test (axe) looked for accessibility errors in the light and dark theme on the home page, one page about a kind of photo book, sign-in, the page where you choose your photos, your profile, the contact page, our legal pages and this page; the home page and this page in all three languages, the others in English. A second script pressed Tab through the home page, sign-in, choosing photos, your profile, the Terms and the contact page, and looked at whether you can see where you are at each stop. The one problem they found is the first one above.
On 1 November 2026 a third script went through the editor, checkout, the order page and the page around a shared book, again with test data, at desktop width, in Dutch and in the light theme. It pressed Tab from stop to stop and looked at whether you can see where you are and whether each stop has a name. In the editor it also moved through the book and opened the panels for sharing, fonts and ordering. This walk found the other two problems above. On the order page and around the shared book, nothing broke.
That walk didn’t cover everything. We haven’t seen the shared book itself, where you turn the pages: it didn’t appear in our test setup. In the editor we didn’t try replacing a photo, editing text or changing the order of the pages. At checkout we didn’t try the payment page, which our payment provider runs, and the order we looked at was a refunded one, not one that has shipped. The automated test (axe) didn’t run on any of these four pages. These are the pages where you look over your book and order it: if something stops you there, please write to us.
We also didn't test with a screen reader such as VoiceOver or NVDA, at phone width, or with the page zoomed to 200%. An automated test only finds part of the possible problems, and no independent audit has been done.
